Content creator, Esther Thomas, aka Sunshine, has d!ed on January 9, 2026, due to complications from a fibroid surgery
Her family announced the news on social media, saying she had been experiencing severe stomach pain since late December 2025.
Sunshine was initially treated at Orchid General Hospital in Lagos, but her condition worsened, leading to a transfer to another facility.
A surgery was performed, but she developed complications and sadly passed away.
The family is making burial arrangements and requests privacy during this time.
“We the family of Esther Thomas (A.K.A Sunshine), with pain in our hearts, regret to announce the sudden demise of our beloved sister and daughter … who passed away on January 9, 2026, after an unsuccessful surgery,”, family statement reads.
“According to the doctor, the surgery was successful, but she later developed complications that led to her death,”, it added.
Sunshine was known for her skits, modeling, and brand engagements.
