Court approves three Labs for Mohbad’s son paternity

The Ikorodu High Court in Lagos State has approved three laboratories – two in the United Kingdom and one in the United States—for DNA testing to establish the paternity of Liam, the child left behind by late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad

Liam’s paternity is been disputed by Joseph Aloba, the late singer’s father, who has insisted that Mohbad’s remains, following his de.ath on September 27, 2023, should not be buried until a DNA test confirms Liam’s parentage.

At the resumed hearing between Joseph Aloba and Wunmi Aloba, counsel to the late singer’s father informed newsmen that the court had selected three DNA laboratories: one chosen by the Aloba family, one by the widow, and an independent lab appointed by the court.

“The matter has been adjourned to April 7 for us to report on the picking of samples. Prior to that, arrangements will be made with welfare officers to supervise the sample collection, and all parties will be present during the process,” the lawyer said.

He added that the Aloba family and their legal team will ensure representatives are present at each laboratory where the DNA samples will be delivered and tested.
