Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested Iziga Ikechukwu, also known as “Easy-money,” for allegedly mishandling naira notes during his birthday celebration
The commission announced the arrest in a statement on X on Thursday.

According to the EFCC, Ikechukwu, a 24-year-old palm kernel trader, was apprehended by the Enugu Zonal Directorate after operatives received actionable intelligence from a viral video circulating on social media.
The video reportedly showed Ikechukwu recording himself abusing naira notes in his hotel room, an act that violates Section 21 of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act of 2007.
A preliminary investigation was conducted after the intelligence surfaced, leading to his identification and eventual arrest. The suspect was taken into custody on February 28 at his home in the Timber Market area of Enugu‑Ezike, Enugu State.
The commission recovered N81,700 during the arrest, believed to be part of the money he allegedly mutilated.
The EFCC confirmed that Ikechukwu will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
