Timaya has triggered conversations online after a video surfaced showing him sharing an unconventional opinion about relationships and marriage.
In the clip, the “Dem Mama” hitmaker was seen hanging out with fellow music star Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, while the pair offered relationship advice to rapper Phyno.

While speaking in Pidgin, Timaya suggested that having children without getting married might be a better choice than entering into a marriage too quickly.
“Just born pikin, pikin go grow. This marriage thing no dey work.”
His statement drew laughter from those around him but has since divided opinion online.
Since the video emerged, many social media users have criticised the singer, accusing him of downplaying the value of marriage. Others, however, defended the comment, saying he may have been speaking from personal experience.
