Nollywood actress Liz Da Silva has weighed in after watching a heartfelt interview with Baba Ajasco
In a recent conversation with Lucky Udu, Baba Ajasco opened up about the financial difficulties he’s faced in recent years.
One major challenge? The iconic character he brought to life is trademarked by the production company.
This means he can’t use the name for personal projects, endorsements, or ads, even though it’s the role that made him famous.
He explained, “I don’t have exclusive rights to the character. I even need permission just to reference it commercially.”
Since retiring five years ago from the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture, life has been tough for him—he doesn’t have a car or a house of his own.
Liz Da Silva expressed frustration over the situation, wondering if things would have been handled differently for a family member:
“Yes, an agreement must have been signed towards that, but all the same, if you had given him a little right of name, things wouldn’t have been this difficult for Uncle. I guess. If he were your brother, would you have kept the name PAPA AJASCO forever and forever?”
She added that she has tried reaching out to him without success so far:
“I’ve tried to reach him, but there’s no response. I’ll try again after church, as I’ve dropped my message on WhatsApp for him. There’s his number 08137808422.”
Liz also encouraged her followers to check out his social media:
“@bondualaska_ is an account to follow now.”
Her reaction shines a light on how some of our favorite stars continue to face hardships, even after giving audiences a lifetime of unforgettable entertainment.
