I used therapy to recover from my villain role in Wura - Scarlet Gomez

Scarlet Gomez has revealed how therapy helped her navigate the emotional challenges of portraying the complex and villainous character Wura Adeleke in series Wura

Wura Adeleke, a powerful figure in the mining industry, is willing to go to great lengths to gain influence, even at the expense of her family.

As the fourth season prepares to premiere on March 30, Gomez explained that professional support and a strong personal network were key in separating herself from her on-screen persona.

“How I strike a balance…therapy and family. I’m grateful that I have the right support system around me to kind of help me stay grounded,” she said during a virtual press briefing.

Scarlet noted that while Wura brought her increased recognition, she deliberately avoids being typecast in similar roles.

“It put me out there, and I am grateful for it. ‘Wura’ made people pay attention…even when they try to bring characters that are similar to Wura, I deliberately try to turn them down because I do not want to have to replicate what Wura,” she added.
