Actor Mofe Duncan has responded to media personality Daddy Freeze following his criticism of the tribute event held in honour of Alex Ekubo.
Daddy Freeze had earlier criticized aspects of the tribute event, saying the atmosphere felt more like a worship concert than a traditional mourning gathering, and questioned whether it reflected the solemn nature of the occasion.
Reacting to the comments, Mofe Duncan insisted that the event was misrepresented and emphasized that it was not a funeral but a night of tributes and worship meant to honour Alex.
He explained that the atmosphere reflected the late actor’s love for worship and celebration through music.
“With all due respect, Sir… the night wasn’t about you or anyone else but ALEXX. It was NOT a FUNERAL, it was a NIGHT OF TRIBUTES & A SERVICE OF SONGS. It was a NIGHT OF WORSHIP… ALEXX LOVED TO WORSHIP. So, a ‘concert’ of worship, as you expressed, is exactly what ALEXX would’ve wanted. You shouldn’t even have the temerity to voice your opinion because, for starters, you didn’t adhere to the dress code,” he said.
