Nigerian actress Mary Njoku has expressed frustration over the lack of a positive update on the a.bducted school children and teachers in Oyo State, as well as the continued wave of k!dnappings across Nigeria.
Beyond the Oyo incident, she noted that the country continues to grapple with a wider pattern of insecurity marked by repeated k!dnappings, k!llings, and violent attacks in different regions, leaving many communities in fear and mourning as similar incidents are reported across states without lasting resolution.
She lamented the situation, questioning the emotional toll of the silence surrounding the fate of the victims.
She said:
“Woke up this morning angry. Angry, heartbroken, and deeply unsettled.
Are we really saying that these k!dnapped children are just… gone?
Are we saying that nothing more can be done? That innocent children and toddlers can vanish, and somehow the rest of us are expected to carry on as though nothing happened?. Have we become so numb to the endless reports of bandits, k!dnappings, and insecurity in Nigeria that they barely move us anymore? Is this what we’ve accepted as normal?”.
Her concerns come amid growing public concern over the lack of confirmed progress or positive update on efforts to secure the release of the a.bducted students and teachers and solution to every individuals living in fear in the country.
Families and community members continue to await clear information from authorities, as uncertainty over the fate of the victims persists.
