Content creator and Twitch streamer Davrel recently became the center of online controversy after playing an unreleased song by Afrobeats superstar Davido during one of his livestreams.
The incident sparked backlash on X (formerly Twitter), where some fans accused him of potentially harming the official rollout and streaming performance of the unreleased track. The criticism quickly escalated, with Davrel facing heavy public dragging online.
At the time, Davido was in Ibiza, Spain. After becoming aware of the situation, he personally reached out to Davrel and instructed him to visit a luxury car dealership in Abuja Sarkin Mota Autos where he would be allowed to choose any car he liked.
Following the instructions, Davrel visited the dealership and selected a 2025 Toyota Camry. Davido reportedly covered the full payment for the vehicle, valued at about ₦68–₦70 million.
Davrel later confirmed the story and expressed gratitude to Davido for the unexpected support. His mother also publicly appreciated the gesture, thanking the singer for his kindness toward her son.
