Mr. Jollof defends First Lady's Kuli-Kuli business advice

Comedian and social media personality Mr. Jollof has thrown his support behind First Lady Oluremi Tinubu‘s comments encouraging Nigerians to see opportunities in small businesses.

Mr. Jollof said there is nothing wrong with starting small, stressing that many successful businesses today began from humble beginnings.

He shared the story of a woman in Delta State who, according to him, trained more than five children through university by selling roasted plantain and fish, saying it shows that dedication and consistency can turn a modest business into a source of long-term success.

“I Know A woman in Delta who trained over five children through university by selling roasted plantain and fish.

‘My personal opinion is that you can start small and grow into something great. Every successful business begins somewhere. There is dignity in labour, and no honest job is beneath anyone. What matters most is consistency, hard work, and the determination to build something meaningful,” he said.

His comments come after the First Lady encouraged Nigerians, particularly young people, to consider small-scale businesses such as selling akara and kuli-kuli as a way of earning a living and becoming financially independent.

Mr. Jollof maintained that every honest job deserves respect and that people should focus less on how a business looks and more on the opportunities it can create over time.
