The veteran defender shared an emotional farewell message, saying it was difficult to fully express his feelings as he officially stepped away from the sport, despite preparing for the moment for some time.

Azpilicueta enjoyed an impressive career across Europe, playing for Osasuna, Marseille, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, and Sevilla.

He also represented Spain at international level, earning 45 caps and featuring in several major tournaments for the national team.

The defender is especially remembered for his long and successful spell at Chelsea F.C., where he became one of the club’s modern greats after joining from Marseille in 2012.

During his 11 years at Stamford Bridge, he made 508 appearances and won every major trophy available, cementing his legacy as one of Chelsea’s most dependable and decorated players.
