Security operatives, however, responded swiftly to the incident, managing to rescue three of those abducted while efforts continue to free the others.

According to a source familiar with the situation, no fewer than seven worshippers were taken during the attack, although full details of the incident remain unclear.

Confirming the development, the Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Bolanle Olukoju, praised the quick intervention of security agencies, forest guards, and local vigilantes, which led to the rescue of some victims and forced the attackers to retreat.

She assured that authorities have intensified efforts to track down those responsible and secure the release of the remaining abductees.

The state government also condemned the attack, describing the invasion of a place of worship as a cowardly act, while reiterating its commitment to protecting lives and ensuring such incidents are not repeated.
