Peter Phillips, King Charles’ nephew, has shared that the King is feeling frustrated over slow cancer recovery. The disclosure marks the first time a member of the royal family has openly discussed the king’s condition.
The King’s frustration stems from the lingering effects of his cancer treatment, which are hindering his ability to resume normal activities swiftly. Phillips, eldest grandson of the late Queen Elizabeth and son of Princess Anne, expressed that while the King comprehends the necessity of recovery time, he eagerly awaits a return to his usual routines.
Despite his eagerness, Charles, aged 75, faces uncertainties about his presence at an upcoming Easter service and family gathering. Kensington Palace has indicated that neither Prince William nor Princess Kate will be present at the event.
Earlier this year, Charles underwent a corrective procedure for an enlarged prostate, followed by treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer, leading to the postponement of his public royal duties. However, Queen Camilla recently reassured well-wishers during a visit to Northern Ireland, stating that Charles is progressing “very well” in his recovery.
As the royal family continues to navigate through health challenges, the public remains hopeful for King Charles’s swift and complete recovery.
