Isaac Fayose has criticized what he described as a growing imbalance in the handling of k!dnapping cases in Nigeria, arguing that some victims receive quicker attention than others depending on their status.
He said it appears that people with political or financial influence are often rescued faster when a.bducted, while others without such connections can remain in captivity for extended periods without urgent resolution.
His comments followed reports that the sister of a former Minister of Power and her twin boys were recently rescued, while abducted schoolchildren and teachers from Ogbomoso remain in captivity.
The contrast, according to him, raises uncomfortable questions about how rescue efforts are prioritized and whether ordinary citizens receive the same level of urgency when they are in danger.
He stated:
“It is much easier to rescue the families of the rich and politicians in Nigeria than to rescue the poor. If you are poor in Nigeria, you have no value.”
