Former President Olusegun Obasanjo made history on Sunday night as he attended what has been described as his first-ever movie premiere.
The special moment happened at the premiere of Omotola Jalade Ekeinde’s latest film, A Mother’s Love, held on March 1 ahead of its nationwide cinema release on March 6.
According to Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, the former two-term president had never attended a movie premiere before, making his presence at her event particularly significant.
In a video from the glamorous evening, Obasanjo was seen making a grand entrance with his security detail, drawing attention as he stepped into the venue.
His attendance added a distinct layer of prestige to the premiere and marked a rare crossover between Nigeria’s political history and its thriving film industry.
