American streamer, IShowSpeed thrilled fans with a live performance of his hit song, Champions, during the closing ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final on Sunday in New York
The content creator entertained a large New York New Jersey Stadium with the energetic performance ahead of the final showdown between Spain and defending champions Argentina.
Wearing a white suit, IShowSpeed took over the stage alongside dozens of backup dancers dressed in colourful tracksuits.
The three-minute spectacle featured marching drummers, synchronised dance routines and giant visual projections across the pitch.
The ceremony also dazzled fans with fireworks, smoke effects and aerial displays, adding to the excitement before kickoff.
Videos from the performance took the internet by a storm with many people describing the appearance as one of the biggest moments of IShowSpeed’s career
This came just weeks after the release of his self-proclaimed unofficial World Cup anthem, World Cup (Champions).
The music video surpassed 3.3 million YouTube views within its first 24 hours and sparked discussions over whether it deserved to become the tournament’s official anthem.
After IShowSpeed tagged FIFA on social media asking for the song to be adopted, FIFA’s verified account replied, “We will be in touch,” prompting speculation among supporters.
Although FIFA ultimately selected Goals by Lisa, Anitta and Nigerian star Rema as the tournament’s official soundtrack, IShowSpeed’s performance at the World Cup final closing ceremony marked a major milestone in his growing career.
