Israel DMW has paid tribute to former President Muhammadu Buhari, recalling the Edo State election conducted during his administration and describing it as free and credible.
The logistics manager made the comment while reflecting on how elections were handled in Edo State during Buhari’s time in office.
He praised the former president for allowing an election he considered credible, while expressing disappointment over what he said happened after Buhari left office.
Israel DMW also criticised what he described as impunity in the period that followed, saying it had continued to bring public disgrace.
In a post he shared, he wrote:
“General Buhari, you at least conducted a very free and credible election in Edo State while in power. What we later saw after you left was full impunity that has continually brought us public disgrace. Rest on, Great General”.
Through the message, Israel DMW acknowledged Buhari’s handling of the Edo election while contrasting it with the situation he believes emerged after the former president’s administration ended.
Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s president from 2015 to 2023, d!ed on July 13, 2025, in London at the age of 82.
