R&B star Chris Brown has publicly criticized an up-and-coming artist named Tigo Fariah for what he perceives as impersonation.
Fariah has been sharing content on his Instagram account (@tigoarte) where he dresses and styles himself similarly to Brown.
The situation came to a head when Brown left a strongly worded comment on one of Fariah’s posts. The “No Guidance” singer urged Fariah to develop his own identity rather than copying Brown’s style. Brown’s comment was harsh and direct: “It’s lame as f*ck impersonating me. You look like you are missing a chromosome. Be you my n*gga. You could never be me! So stop it before I slap da sh*t out of you.”
This blunt response from Brown has ignited a mixed reaction online. While some fans support Brown’s right to protect his image and brand, others have criticized the established artist for what they see as an overreaction to a fan’s admiration.
