Kehinde Bankole has explained her absence at the 12th edition of the AMVCA, clarifying why she did not appear at the 2026 ceremony despite expectations from fans and industry watchers.
The award-winning actress revealed that her schedule was fully committed to a film project that she considers a significant part of her current creative journey. Instead of attending the event, she was on set, working through production commitments tied to her next screen appearance.
Addressing the reason for her absence, she stated:
“I missed the AMVCA because I was filming my next masterpiece for you”.
Her comment places emphasis on her focus at the time, prioritizing filming over event attendance due to professional obligations.
The AMVCA 12th edition went on without her presence, though she remains one of the notable figures in contemporary Nollywood whose work continues across multiple productions.
