King Charles has shared that he and Queen Camilla plan to adopt a new dog following the recent death of her cherished Jack Russell, Beth.
Speaking with TV presenters Amanda Holden and Alan Carr after the Royal Variety Performance on Friday night, the King said they were looking forward to welcoming another four-legged friend.
Beth, a 13-year-old rescue dog from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, had to be put to sleep just over a week ago after being diagnosed with an inoperable tumor.

Queen Camilla is said to be heartbroken, especially as Beth’s condition worsened quickly.
The loss comes during a challenging time for the Queen, who has had to cancel several public appearances, including the Royal Variety Performance, as she recovers from the lingering effects of a severe chest infection.
Amanda Holden, an ambassador for Battersea, spoke about her conversation with the King: “We mentioned Her Majesty and wished her well, and I gave condolences for the doggie. I felt for her, I really felt for her when that happened.
He said, ‘We’re going to get a new one. Merry Christmas.'”
Holden encouraged the King to adopt the new dog from Battersea, adding, “That’s what he said, and I said yes, but get it from Battersea please.”
Alan Carr, jokingly, added, “Always working.”
Holden also shared that she had recently adopted a puppy, Minnie, a mix of Shih Tzu and toy spaniel, from the famous animal rescue center.
