Liverpool produced a stunning turnaround at Anfield, overcoming Brighton 2-1 to ascend to the top of the Premier League

The victory was made sweeter by defeats suffered by title rivals Manchester City and Arsenal.
Brighton dominated the first half, with Ferdi Kadioglu’s impressive 16-yard strike putting them ahead. However, Liverpool’s fortunes changed in the second half.
Cody Gakpo equalized with a surprising left-wing cross that sailed directly into the net, his third goal against Brighton in four days. Mohamed Salah then sealed the comeback with a breathtaking curled shot into the far corner.
The win was all the more impressive given Brighton’s strong performance, which had silenced the Anfield crowd at times. Caoimhin Kelleher’s crucial save from Georginio Rutter’s effort proved pivotal.
Under new manager Arne Slot, Liverpool has now won 13 of 15 games. They sit two points clear of Manchester City, who surprisingly lost to Bournemouth, and Arsenal, who fell to Newcastle.
