Manchester City have reached an agreement to sign Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan in a deal worth €55 million (£46.3 million), with potential add-ons pushing the total fee to €70 million

Reijnders is expected to sign a five-year contract and will undergo his medical in the coming days, becoming City’s first major signing of the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old enjoyed a standout season in Serie A, scoring 15 goals and providing four assists, which earned him the Midfielder of the Year award. Known for his technical ability, vision, and control in midfield, Reijnders is widely seen as a natural successor to Kevin De Bruyne, who recently departed the club.
Interestingly, Reijnders was named after former Nigerian international Tijani Babangida, reflecting his family’s deep-rooted passion for football. His rise from working at an Aldi supermarket to playing at the highest levels of European football highlights his remarkable journey and determination.
Manchester City view Reijnders as a key addition as they prepare for another competitive season and aim to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming Club World Cup.
