Tiwa Savage has addressed the constant criticism she faces regarding her fashion choices, emphasizing that age should not dictate one’s style

During a podcast interview, the 44-year-old singer expressed frustration about the ageism she encounters, particularly from Nigerians.
Savage noted that she is often shamed for her clothing choices, with some suggesting that she should dress more modestly due to her age.
However, she pointed out the double standard, citing Beyoncé as an example.
The American singer, also in her 40s, is celebrated for her beauty and fashion sense, regardless of her age.
Tiwa Savage confidently asserted her right to express herself through fashion, regardless of her age.
Savage also emphasized her pride in being a powerful and beautiful woman.
She said:
“They age-shame me every single day. They say, a woman of you age, how can you be wearing a bikini? I can because I have a body.
“Beyoncé is in her 40s and wears bikinis but Americans don’t age shame her. They would be like, for her age, black don’t crack. It’s more celebrated when you look good in your older age.
“But they [Nigerians], always throw these things like, when her son grows up, he’s going to see this. My son is going to be like, my mum is a powerful and beautiful woman.”
