Pakistan strikes the Afghan capital of Kabul as part of a wave of attacks across the country, according to a government official
The Pakistani strikes on Friday came after the Afghan Taliban announced a major offensive against Pakistani military posts near the border on Thursday night.
As tensions flare, Pakistan’s PM says the country has “the full capability to crush any aggressive ambitions”, while the defence minister declares “open war” on the Afghan Taliban.
A spokesperson for the Afghan Taliban says on X it has responded with renewed attacks against Pakistani troops – though the post has now been deleted.
