“Police go after flashy cars, not k!dnappers” — Harrison Gwamnishu

Activist Harrison Gwamnishu has raised fresh concerns about policing priorities in the country, accusing the Nigeria Police Force of focusing on motorists with expensive vehicles while failing to address violent crimes such as kidnapping.

Speaking during an interview with content creator Egungun of Lagos, Gwamnishu alleged that law enforcement officers often target individuals driving flashy cars instead of pursuing suspected kidnappers and perpetrators of violent attacks.

He linked his criticism to a recent incident in Delta State, where he shared footage showing the k%lling of a young man. According to him, the aftermath of the post raised further concerns about how such cases are handled.

“When I posted the video of a young man being k%lled in Delta State, I received several calls asking me to delete it so the case could be settled offline,” he said.

The activist described the alleged response as part of a broader systemic issue, suggesting a lack of urgency in tackling serious crimes in regions affected by insecurity.

“The police mostly go after people driving flashy cars and don’t have time to apprehend k!dnappers,” he added.

Gwamnishu also pointed to his own involvement in supporting security efforts, claiming he collaborates with operatives by using tracking tools to locate suspected k!dnappers.

“I can track anyone to their exact location that’s how we go after kidnappers with security operatives,” he stated.

As of the time of reporting, the Nigeria Police Force has not issued an official response to the claims.
