The dispute between Seun Kuti and commentator VeryDarkMan has intensified, with fresh remarks revealing a deeper personal fallout between the two.
What began as a disagreement tied to broader conversations involving activist Omoyele Sowore and other public issues has now evolved into a direct exchange of accusations.
In recent weeks, Seun Kuti had shared videos where he dismissed expectations of loyalty and made pointed remarks about those speaking on his name.
Responding, VeryDarkMan released a strongly worded statement, expressing disappointment and questioning the singer’s integrity.
“I have seen all the videos Seun Kuti made. It’s not that I can’t talk back at him but I have honour. I once followed him to his dad’s grave, k! lled ram, poured the blood, ate kolanut, drank gin and made prayers.”
He suggested their relationship went beyond public alignment, referencing shared personal experiences tied to the legacy of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
“After all we did together, you are coming online to do this, Seun, you have no honour. I have no secrets with you. I don’t do fr@ud. The people pushing you should continue to push you but you have disrespected yourself. If we meet outside, everyone should stay on their lane.”
The exchange marks a shift from indirect criticism to open confrontation, with both sides now framing the issue around respect, loyalty, and personal boundaries.
