The Edo State Police Command has successfully apprehended the suspected murderer of Glory Adekolure, a recent graduate of the University of Benin
Tragically, Adekolure’s life was cut short on June 13, 2024, when her body was discovered under a tree in the Iyowa Community of Benin City, mere steps from her residence.
She had been on campus for her final clearance just prior to her untimely death.
Following a rigorous investigation, the suspect was finally apprehended in Asaba, Delta State, a full 15 days after Adekolure’s passing.
In an interview with Channels Television, Commissioner of Police Funsho Adegboye revealed that the suspect has confessed to the heinous crime, admitting to the murder of not only Adekolure but also at least eight other young women.
“I am delighted to inform the people of Edo State and Nigeria that the perpetrator of this horrific crime has been brought to justice,” Adegboye stated. “Our anti-kidnapping and cybercrime unit worked tirelessly to track down the suspect, who confessed to the crimes following his arrest.”
While the suspect has not been publicly paraded, the police continue to investigate the incident, ensuring that all avenues are explored and justice is served for the victims and their families
