This is such a sad news! Beloved veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has passed away
Ogogo was 66.
His daughter, Kira Taiwo, announced his passing today Sunday, August 23, 2026, during an Instagram Live session.
Ogogo had been battling stage-four cancer, with his daughters recently appealing for help as the family searched for further treatment.
His de.ath comes just days after earlier reports of his passing were dismissed by his family. At the time, his daughter said the reports were false and asked people to stop spreading them.
Kira later spoke publicly about how badly the illness had affected her father, saying she had never seen him in such pain.
The actor leaves behind a long career in the Yoruba film industry, where he was known for his work as an actor, producer and director.
