Teenage Girl Dies From Suspected Cardiac Arrest Just Hours After ‘Taking Ecstasy’

Friends have paid tribute to a ‘smiling’ teenage girl who
died after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest – just hours after allegedly
    taking ecstasy.

Police are now probing the ‘unexplained’ death of
16-year-old Sky Nicol, who was found unconscious at a home in Darwen,
    Lancashire, last night.
They have arrested another 16-year-old girl on suspicion of
‘being concerned in the supply of ecstasy’ to the teenager, who later died in
    hospital.
A 46-year-old woman has also been detained on suspicion of
    obstructing the course of justice.
In a statement today, Lancashire Police said Sky’s death was
being treated as ‘unexplained’, with a post-mortem examination set to take
    place to establish the cause.
They said: “At this stage we believe that Sky had taken
a quantity of drugs earlier in the evening, but we cannot say at this stage
what that was or whether there is any link to her death as a post mortem
examination has not yet been carried out.”
They added that the girl’s relatives are being ‘supported by
    specially trained officers’.
Sky’s friends have also taken to Facebook as news of her
death spread, describing the teenager as ‘popular’ and ‘gorgeous’.
