Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, has been shot
He was shot on Wednesday during a live event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah
Reports say the shooting happened around noon while Kirk was hosting a “Prove Me Wrong” booth as part of his American Comeback Tour.
A single shot was fired from roughly 200 yards away from a nearby campus building, hitting Kirk in the neck.
He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Video clips from the scene showed him collapsing as bystanders scrambled to help.
Police initially detained a person of interest, but later confirmed that the individual was not the shooter.
The suspect remains at large, and federal agencies including the FBI and ATF have joined the investigation.
Political leaders from across the spectrum, including President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, condemned the attack and called for prayers for Kirk.
