Sonia Ighalo, ex-wife of footballer Jude Ighalo, has expressed disappointment over Nigerians celebrating the d3ath of former President Muhammadu Buhari
Taking to Instagram, she emphasized the importance of empathy, reminding her followers that the deceased was someone’s loved one.
Sonia acknowledged that while criticisms of Buhari’s leadership are valid, celebrating his passing overlooks the shared humanity that should bind everyone.
She highlighted that d3ath is a universal reality that demands empathy and compassion.
She wrote: “Nigerians seem to lack empathy, this is someone’s father, husband, uncle and son.
Must you all display your caprine tendencies even when calamity befalls?
“While criticisms of his leadership are valid, celebrating his der th misses our shared humanity.
Der th is the final chapter we ALL must face, and in that reality, empathy should always prevail.”
