Yomi Casual‘s wife has shared an emotional tribute to her husband following the burial of his close friend, Alexx Ekubo, revealing the pain the celebrity designer endured while preparing the late actor’s final suit for burial.
In a lengthy message, she reflected on the special bond between the two friends and the heartbreaking reality of having to dress Alexx one last time.
She wrote:
“Typical yomi and Alex conversation
Yomi; ore how far, your cloth don ready Alex ; ore I Dey come office come fit my cloth* *“Plenty insults follows 😂🥺”
She recalled how that familiar exchange suddenly became painful after Alexx’s passing.
“Few days ago
Yomi ; ore your cloth is ready.
Alex ; no response”
According to her, Yomi then found himself carrying out what she described as the most difficult task of his career.

Unable to hide her emotions, she questioned how her husband was expected to recover from such a loss.
“Alex how do expect yomi should heal from this loss !!!*

Addressing Yomi directly, she praised the dedication he showed in ensuring every detail of the outfit met the standards his late friend would have wanted.

This past month , especially this week has been the hardest for you . Alex is proud of you and wouldn’t have had anyone dress him up , your quest for perfection , going up and about making sure it comes exactly how he would have wanted , you kept on saying to me “ babe Alex go vex for me if that suit no come out well 🥺.
“You finally felt that sense of honor to see him looking so dapper in that suit one last time even with so much pain and grieve in your eyes.”
Commending his strength, she continued:
“Oh my yomi 🥺!!! You did it , I’m proud of your strength and courage”
She concluded her tribute with an emotional farewell to Alexx.

Alexx Ekubo died on May 11, 2026, at the age of 40. His death came as a shock to family, friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry.
Following weeks of mourning, his wake-keep was held on Wednesday, while family members, friends and associates gathered on Thursday for his funeral rites and final burial.
Among those grieving the actor’s passing are Yomi Casual, IK Ogbonna who shared close friendship with Alexx for many years.
Their relationship extended beyond work and public appearances, with many describing them as best friends and brothers, making the designer’s final gesture of dressing Alexx for burial an especially emotional farewell.
