A young man seen in a vehicle conveying the remains of late Ileriouluwa Oladimeji Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, immediately after the singer was declared dead has denied allegations that he had fled to Dubai.

The young man was seen beside the remains of the late artiste in a viral video, shouting ‘Mohbad is dead’

However, recently some netizens have been taking a second look at the video, with insinuations that the late musician might have still been alive when the young man was pronouncing him dead.

Self-acclaimed investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo had further stirred controversies when he asserted that the young man had left the country and was connected to the singer’s demise. She further claimed that he was evading police interrogation.

But in a recent Instagram live session, the individual refuted these claims, displaying his passports to affirm that he is currently in Lagos, not Dubai, as had been rumored online. The denial has led to criticism of Olunloyo for disseminating inaccurate information to the public.

AAU graduate attempts suicide over withheld results

A graduate of Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, Edo State, identified as Precious Ogbeide, has attempted suicide over the alleged university’s refusal to issue him and several other students their results after they graduated from school in 2018.

Punch correspondent learnt that Ogbeide, whose parents claimed he had been battling depression due to his inability to be issued his results after spending five years in the school, started to stab himself with pieces of a bottle he had broken.

Some aggrieved students of the school had lamented the inability to receive their degree results after spending five years undergoing the programme, claiming that the situation had demoralised them.

According to them, they are facing a bleak future as a result of the development.

Punch Metro learnt from the aggrieved students that the tertiary institution had been promising them that the backlog of results would be cleared and students who were yet to be mobilised for the National Youth Service Corps scheme would be settled.

However, a source, who was privy to Monday’s incident, told Punch correspondent that Ogbeide became frustrated and decided to end his life over the matter.

Meanwhile, the school, through the Head of Corporate Communications and Protocol, Mike Aladenika, had told PUNCH Metro that the students affected by certificate and result issues might have had issues with some courses during their time in school.

“If you had graduated and done all you were asked to do while you were a student, you would not have problems with your results.

“Some of the students who did not take cognizance of the deficiencies they had with their courses are the ones facing these challenges,” Aladenika stated.

Obasanjo should apologise to monarchs -Afenifere

The dust stirred by former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s outburst against some monarchs in Oyo State has not settled.

Afenifere, pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, said the former president should apologise to Oke-Ogun traditional rulers for subjecting them to ridicule in Iseyin, two weeks ago.

The group also urged Nigerians to support the Bola Tinubu administration in its bid to reposition the country.

There was indignation in many parts of Yorubaland, following reports on how Obasanjo attacked the traditional rulers, who he accused of breaching protocol.

The former, who had accompanied Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde to the road project commissioning at Iseyin complained that the monarchs had disrespected the governor for not standing up when he arrived at the ceremony.

After reprimanding them in harsh tone, he commanded them to stand up, and after they obey him, he asked them to sit down.

Flaying Obasanjo over his outburst against the monarchs, Afenifere said that the former president, who holds the traditional title of Balogun of Owu in Ogun, has violated tradition.

Rising from its meeting in Akure, Ondo State residence of its leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the group, in itscommunique, said as arrowheads of Yoruba culture, tradition and values, the royal fathers deserved respect as next in rank to the gods.

Pete Davidson’s ‘inner circle’ allegedly concerned for his well-being and ‘fear he could die’

Actor and comedian Pete Davidson is causing his “inner circle” to worry about him due to his recent behavior.

According to a report, a source expressed concerns that some of his friends have enabled his behavior, citing instances like openly discussing ketamine use post-rehab.

They questioned Davidson’s maturity in facing his issues and the potential consequences of not taking them seriously.

According to an unnamed source who spoke with The U.S. Sun, there are concerns about Pete Davidson and the company he keeps. The insider explained: “His buddies, these friends he has around him, they are enabling him and they aren’t being honest with him.”

Providing an example, the insider continued, “He came out of rehab and he immediately started talking about how he had taken ketamine to treat his depression and these people who are always around him didn’t think that was a big deal. It wasn’t a big deal until of course it blew up and became a problem for his fresh out of rehab image.”

The source expressed doubt about the comedian’s maturity in handling reality and his own problems, emphasizing the importance of taking his issues seriously. They said, “If he doesn’t start taking his issues seriously, he could wind up killing himself from drugs.”

Ultimately, the insider sympathized with Davidson, adding, “At the end of the day, I feel bad for him. The drug situation is his own issue, and I don’t think he understands it all comes crashing down.”

“Look, he’s actually a good guy. He’s great with kids, he’s fun, but I just don’t think he lives in reality when it comes to the issues he’s dealing with,” the insider concluded.

Sanwo-Olu gives Agege traders two-day ultimatum to vacate train tracks

The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has issued a two-day ultimatum to traders selling their wares on train tracks to vacate.

The governor warned that traders who ignore the warning will have their wares seized after the ultimatum.

Addressing traders on the train track at the Agege station on Wednesday while on an inspection tour of the Red Line rail project, Sanwo-Olu, who expressed his displeasure at the trading activities going on at the facility, stressed that the facility was built for transportation and not for trading.

The governor added that the tracks will be walled off to prevent pedestrian and traders’ access.

“It is government road, that’s why the government built everything here. It is for transportation, not a market. It is not for market, and I am saying it loud and clear now.

“I have given you two days’ notice. Those selling chickens, we will be here to pack everything this coming week. You cannot stay here to sell your goods. It is not possible. That’s why I came by myself. It is not possible.

“As a government, we can’t spend a lot of money building this type of facility and not use it for its intended purpose,” Sanwo-Olu said.

Cher accused of hiring 4 men to kidnap her son

The estranged wife of Cher‘s son Elijah Blue Allman alleged the Oscar winner took drastic measures to keep her away from the Deadsy frontman.

Marieangela King alleges in a December 2022 court filing in her divorce case with her ex last year, the “Believe” singer hired four men to kidnap husband from a hotel room they shared while trying to reconcile their marriage.

Elijah—whom Cher shared with her late ex-husband Gregg Allman—filed for divorce from Marieangela in November 2021 after almost eight years of marriage in a Los Angeles court.

In her filed declaration, Marieangela said that since August 2022, she was told that she is “not allowed to see or speak to” Elijah, “who is currently in lockdown at a treatment facility” and that she was also told that her husband “has no access to his phone.”

According to the filing, made public this week, the two met up months later. Marieangela said that in November 2022, she and Elijah spent 12 days alone together in New York, “working on our marriage.”

“On November 30, 2022, the night of our wedding anniversary, 4 people came to our hotel room and removed [Elijah] from our room,” the KING band member wrote in her filing. “I am currently unaware of my husband’s wellbeing or whereabouts. I am very concerned and worried about him. I was told by one of the four men who took him that they were hired by [Elijah’s] mother.”

It is unclear if Marieangela and Elijah are currently in contact. In her filing, she wrote, “I understand his family’s efforts to make sure he is well, and I want what is best for my husband.”

Marieangela also requested that proceedings involving the divorce with Elijah—who has spoken about his past battle with drug addiction—be moved to after March 2023, “when my husband will have finished his treatment plan and so that my attorney can complete discovery and have our property valued.”

According to court records, the case remains pending.

Leah Sharibu marries another ISWAP commander

Nigerian schoolgirl who has now spent five years in terrorists’ captivity, Leah Sharibu, has reportedly “remarried” another Islamist terrorists’ commander, after abandoning the first ‘husband’ she was forcefully given to, local security sources told Daily Trust.

Leah was one of the 110 female pupils of the Government Girls’ Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State, who were abducted on February 19, 2018, by the Boko Haram terrorists.

Since then she has been held in captivity by members of Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).

Few years ago, it was reported by some media houses that the Dapchi girl was married off.

it was gathered that Leah, after the purported divorce from one Abdulrahman, was remarried to another ISWAP commander in the Lake Chad area named Ali Abdallah.

One of the security sources said, “Leah was first married to Abdulrahman after she allegedly converted to Islam and they have two children, all boys that were named after two Boko Haram commanders that were killed.

“We don’t know what transpired but Leah secured the divorce and married another commander, Ali Abdallah.”

The source said after her abduction, Leah was “trained” on how to administer some medical services to injured Boko Haram fighters and women.
