Hilda Dokubo accuses President Tinubu of detachment from citizens’ suffering

Veteran Nollywood actress Hilda Dokubo has openly condemned the administration of President Bola Tinubu, reacting to the escalating insecurity and frequent a.bductions reported in various parts of the country.

In a video posted, she voiced strong concern over what she described as the widening gap between government officials and everyday Nigerians who face constant thre.ats to their safety.

She painted a contrast between the protected lifestyle of political leaders and the vulnerability experienced by citizens, suggesting that this disconnect fuels indifference at the top.

“You live a great life. You drive in armoured vehicles escorted on both sides by armed security men. Your office has an armoured door and long security queues before you can be seen,” she said.

Hilda argued that the ongoing vi0lence and kidnappings are not being met with sufficient urgency or compassion from leadership. She stressed that communities affected by insecurity, particularly rural farmers, are bearing heavy losses.

“But not us ordinary Nigerians and so you don’t feel our pain, and that’s why you can distance yourself from our cry by citing the example of Abraham and Isaac,” she stated.

She further emphasized that symbolic references and speeches are not enough, insisting that practical intervention is needed to restore safety, especially for those who can no longer access their farms due to fear of attacks.

“The farmers who lose their farmlands daily do not need your distance. They need empathy and they need action. They need you to be able to protect the land. They need you to stop the insecurity that is plaguing their land,” she said.

Stating the emotional toll on families, she also referenced the plight of abducted schoolchildren and their parents, describing the situation as deeply distressing.

“The children who were ti£d up, did you see that child? The one tied up with st0ne, t!ed to his back, his legs and his hands t!ed together. How can that not move you, Mr President?” she asked.

She warned that the crisis should not be normalized or dismissed as an old problem, adding a cautionary note about its broader implications.

“May no parent go through this f£ar, this f£ar of knowing that they may be the ones to bury their children or worse, not even see the corpse of their children,” she said.

Dokubo concluded by cautioning that insecurity, if left unchecked, could eventually affect everyone, regardless of status or position.

“Let all those who say this insecurity has always been here know that one day it might be their turn,” she cautioned.
