Suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has once again spoken out against her 180-day suspension from the Senate, insisting that the decision was unjust and would not stand

She emphasized that her suspension was not an expulsion, asserting that she remains a member of the Senate despite the disciplinary action.
Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended on Thursday for six months over alleged violations of Senate rules and misconduct following a confrontation with Senate President Godswill Akpabio over seating arrangements in the Red Chamber two weeks ago.
The dispute escalated further when she accused Akpabio of sexual harassment, abuse of office, and deliberately obstructing her legislative duties after she rejected his alleged advances.
Later on Thursday night, she reiterated her stance on social media, reaffirming what she told her colleagues after her suspension: “This injustice will not be sustained!”
She also expressed resilience, writing:
“Suspended, not expelled.
Pierced but not broken.
The voice may be temporarily tamed but cannot be silenced.
I salute your courage, my distinguished Senator Natasha H. Akpoti, in the face of this storm.
My confidence is in the fact that, just like the other storms, you will come out victorious and better prepared to serve your people.”
