The Ondo State Police Command has revealed shocking details surrounding the abduction and brutal m3rder of two undergraduates of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA)—25-year-old Abah John Friday and 19-year-old Okah Andrel Eloho

According to a statement released on Wednesday, July 16, by the Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, the crime was orchestrated by Abah’s landlord, Oladele Femi, who has since confessed to masterminding the attack.
The students were declared missing on June 20, 2025. Their disappearance triggered a petition to the police from a relative of Abah, leading to an intensive investigation by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit.
“Following a petition dated June 24, 2025, submitted by G.O. Omoedu & Co. on behalf of Mr. Emmanuel Peter of Shagari Village, Akure, the Command launched a full investigation into the disappearance of his younger brother, Abah John Friday, and his friend, Okah Andrel Eloho,” the police statement read.
Using forensic tracking, detectives traced an iPhone 14 Pro Max belonging to one of the victims to Computer Village, Ikeja, Lagos, where it was recovered from 38-year-old Abdul Mohammed Mubarak. Mubarak confessed to buying the phone from one Ojo Michael, who was later arrested in Aramoko-Ekiti.
Upon interrogation, Michael admitted to participating in the abduction, robbery, and killing of the victims. He also confessed that the crime was arranged by Oladele Femi, the victims’ landlord, who allegedly recruited him and another accomplice known as “Kola” (still at large).
Michael further revealed that N800,000 was withdrawn from Abah’s account while he was held captive. He also confessed to raping the female victim, Okah, before killing both students after she recognized and unmasked him. Their bodies were dumped at separate locations between Agbado and Ode-Ekiti.
The body of Okah was recovered from a bush near Ode-Ekiti and has been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy. Efforts are ongoing to locate Abah’s remains, believed to have been thrown into a river by the fleeing accomplice.
Police Commissioner Lawal described the incident as a horrifying example of betrayal and greed, noting the tragic loss of two young lives full of promise.
“This case is a grim reminder of the evil that can lurk behind familiar faces,” he said. “We are working tirelessly to arrest the remaining suspect and ensure justice is served for the victims and their families.”
