After losing the APC House of Representatives primary election, Nigerian socialite and businessman Cubana Chiefpriest has opened up about the disappointment he experienced during the exercise.
Speaking after the outcome of the primary, the celebrity barman said he had no regrets about stepping forward to contest for the position, despite the defeat.
According to him, his biggest disappointment came from placing too much trust in some elders within the community whom he believed would support his ambition.
“I’m a hustler, and I didn’t regret trying to contest for a position. My only regret was trusting the elders in the community. I know how much I gave them, but only 14 people voted for me in the primary,” he said.
Cubana Chiefpriest’s comments have since sparked conversations online, with many social media users reacting to his claims about loyalty, political support, and the realities of grassroots politics.
The businessman’s political ambition had generated attention in recent weeks, especially among supporters who believed his popularity and influence could strengthen his chances in the race.
However, the primary result told a different story as he failed to secure enough votes to emerge victorious.
