Carter Efe has sparked controversy by sharing his reasons for boycotting church.
In a video, the content creator expressed distrust in some pastors, alleging they build close relationships with members only to exploit them financially.

He cited examples like pastors asking for fuel money or household essentials, implying some use their position for personal gain.
He said: “Pastor go dey show you love dey call you for afternoon and evening. Before you know pastor go dey tell you say ‘can you give me money for fuel?’ before you know pastor go tell you say ‘i want to cook beans, I need oil’. Before you know pastor go dey collect money for your hand na why I dey fear. Na why I no dey go church. I dey fear all this pastors, if them turn you to friend, them go just dey collect money for your hand…”
His comments have generated mixed reactions online, with some agreeing that certain pastors prioritize wealth over spirituality, while others argue he’s unfairly generalizing all religious leaders.

It’s not all pastors prioritize wealth over spirituality
That’s not a good reason to desert the house of God. The Bible says we should fellowship together, because it helps us grow more in the Lord. Iron sharpeneth Iron. You cna decide to go to church and not be friends with the pastor
Na you know where you meet pastors wey dey ask you for fuel money! Mention the pastor so we know how to address that, but putting all the pastors in the same basket is stupid. Nobody kuku miss you for Church. You go, you go for yourself, if you no go, na you go still lose las las. Yeye boy
