Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong has spoken candidly about a period in his past when he was involved with multiple women, describing it as a phase of personal exploration and growth

In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the actor—who left a career in engineering to pursue acting—opened up about what he called a “learning season” before settling down.
When asked if he had been a womanizer at any point, Etim-Effiong admitted, “Maybe there was a time in my life I explored. Definitions vary, but by some standards, I probably was.”
He reflected on that stage of his life as one that came with lessons, noting that while it may have seemed enjoyable at the time, it offered clarity and growth in hindsight.
“They were periods of learning for me,” he said. “And if I learned something from them, then they served a purpose.”
The actor cautioned young people against glorifying the idea of being a player, explaining that habits formed in one’s youth often follow them into more serious relationships.
“It might seem cool to be a player, but those patterns don’t disappear when you get married,” he warned. “If you’re used to walking away easily or juggling multiple relationships, marriage won’t magically change that.”
Etim-Effiong emphasized the importance of emotional maturity and discipline before entering into marriage, saying the foundation laid during one’s single years plays a critical role in sustaining long-term commitment.
