Gavin Harper, a former police officer, has walked free after stalking his estranged wife, Stephanie Glynn, whom he found in a compromising situation with her new boyfriend, Inspector Andrew McLullich.
Harper, 45, discovered Glynn and McLullich engaged in intimate activities in a Screwfix car park in Birkenhead, Merseyside. His obsessive behaviour included secretly tracking Glynn’s movements, bugging her car, and accessing her social media accounts after she began seeing McLullich.
Despite being found guilty of aggravated stalking by a Liverpool Crown Court jury, Harper received a suspended two-year sentence from Judge David Potter.
The judge cited concerns for Harper’s aged parents and youngest son, stating that imprisonment would significantly impact them.

Glynn testified that Harper’s actions severely affected her mental health, leading her to move out permanently and seek refuge with her mother.
The courtroom heard how Harper’s obsession led to confrontations, including a physical altercation where he punched McLullich after being caught tracking Glynn’s car. Despite the drama, Judge Potter emphasized the distress caused to Glynn and McLullich, highlighting Harper’s selfish and vengeful motives.
