A young Ghanaian lawyer, Sara Araba Tettey, has d!ed after suddenly collapsing during a World Cup viewing session in Kumasi.

The 26-year-old, who had only recently been called to the Bar, was said to be watching Ghana’s opening match against Panama with friends at Standard Hostel in Bomso, near the KNUST campus.

What began as a joyful evening reportedly took a tragic turn shortly after the final whistle, when she suddenly became unresponsive amid the celebrations.

Those present say there was immediate panic as friends and others in the room tried to get her help. She was quickly taken to the KNUST Hospital, where medical staff worked on her for an extended period, carrying out CPR and other emergency procedures for about 45 minutes.

Despite the efforts, she did not survive.

Sara was an alumna of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology’s Faculty of Law and had been called to the Ghana Bar earlier this year. She was reportedly working with O & A Legal Consult and was regarded by colleagues as a young professional with strong promise.

Her de.ath has left family, friends, and colleagues in shock, coming so suddenly during what was meant to be a night of celebration.
