Earl Holliman, the celebrate actor whose career spanned more than 50 years, passed away on Monday at the age of 96.
He died in hospice care at his home in Studio City, as confirmed by his partner, Craig Curtis, to ‘The Hollywood Reporter’.
Holliman is best remembered for his Golden Globe-winning performance in ‘The Rainmaker’ (1956), where he starred as Katharine Hepburn’s charming and mischievous brother.
His portrayal of Jim Curry, a role he secured over Elvis Presley, earned him the Best Supporting Actor award.
In 1957, Holliman cemented his legacy in the Western genre with his role as Wyatt Earp’s assistant in ‘Gunfight at the O.K. Corral’, a classic film beloved by fans to this day.
He further showcased his versatility in television, appearing in the inaugural episode of ‘The Twilight Zone’ in 1959, leaving an indelible mark on the groundbreaking series.
Holliman’s remarkable talent and contributions to entertainment will continue to be celebrated as part of Hollywood’s rich history.
